The accessibility issues that most often block real customers
If you need to reduce accessibility risk quickly, focus on the issues that stop someone from contacting you, signing up, or completing a purchase.
1) People can’t use your site without a mouse
A common blocker is when parts of the site can’t be used with a keyboard. Many users rely on keyboards or assistive tools that behave like a keyboard.
If someone can’t tab through your navigation, open menus, or complete forms, it’s a real barrier.
- Menus or popups that trap users
- Buttons you can’t reach or see when focused
- Popups you can’t close without a mouse
2) Forms are confusing or errors aren’t clear
Forms are where accessibility problems often show up as business problems: lost leads, abandoned checkouts, and support burden.
The biggest red flags are missing labels, unclear instructions, and error messages that aren’t obvious.
- Fields without clear labels (or labels that disappear)
- Errors that aren’t easy to find or understand
- Required fields that aren’t clearly marked
3) Text is hard to read or links aren’t obvious
Low contrast text, faint links, and subtle button styles are frequent issues on marketing sites.
These are often among the fastest fixes because they’re usually design tweaks, not rebuilds.
- Light gray text on white backgrounds

- Buttons with faint outlines or states
